Which energy contract suits you?

Four questions, and no more. We only ask what really changes your result, and we explain why we ask each one. You do not need your annual statement.

Where do you live?

Your postcode determines which suppliers deliver to you, and that really matters. Essent and Energiedirect do not deliver everywhere: in Utrecht Essent is often the cheapest, in Rotterdam that contract does not even exist. Without your postcode we would show you the wrong winner.

🔒 That is all we ask. No email, no phone number, and we never call you.

Four questions, no more. We deliberately do not ask about your meter type: by our own calculation that saves at most a few euros a year and does not change the order. And we do not ask about your current supplier, because that only filters and does not make your result any better.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to compare energy?

Your postcode and house number, and a rough idea of your usage. We estimate the latter from how many people live there and what type of home you have, so you do not need your annual statement. If you have solar panels, it helps to know how many are on your roof. That is all: no email, no phone number, no bank details.

Why do you not ask about my meter type?

Because we have calculated that it does not matter. At the same total usage, a double meter versus a single one saves at most a few euros a year, and it does not change the order of suppliers. A question that does not change your result is only a reason to drop off. You can still set it in the comparison afterwards if you want.

Why is the solar panels question so important?

Because it flips the order completely. As soon as you feed power back, different rules apply: feed-in costs count, and at some suppliers your entire welcome discount lapses. That happens from the very first kilowatt-hour you feed back. The cheapest supplier without panels is often no longer the cheapest with them, and most lists online do not take that into account.

Is this advice?

It is our advice, not a rule. We sort on the lowest yearly cost at what you enter and explain where a difference comes from, for example that a contract is only on top because of a one-off discount. We do not know your full situation, so the choice stays yours. Everything we show is traceable to the suppliers' own rates, with a date attached.
